My name is Oliva, currently a freshman at Chongqing Bashu Secondary School. I was a victim of bullying in my middle school for a prolonged period of time, from the second semester of middle school to the day I graduated. At the time, although I tried to seek help from my family members or teachers, the bullies threatened me verbally, warning me that if I told the teachers, they would get the whole school to sideline me. I suffered mostly from verbal abuse and slandering. My friends around me feared the influence of the bullies, and saw nothing in their power they could’ve done to help. After enduring bullying for such a long period of time, I have been diagnosed with depression.

After all that I’ve been through, I hope these bullies reflect deeply on their actions. If someone’s life ends because of your acts of bullying, you are responsible for that outcome. Are you capable of bearing the responsibility? If the family insists on taking legal action, will you be able to handle the situation? If not, never bully others. I also hope that everyone can become more critically aware and conscious of their actions, rather than following what everyone else seems to be doing and believing in what seems to be right.
